Laurie's work is best navigated, if presently aware, through the accumulative gathering of life's accretions- a gentle touch, memories of wind in real/ imagined fields, a lost glove....One most imagine beyond what her work is/existing to the infinite potential of the unknown in the everyday of everyone. Her work is a positive questioning of unknowing- a constantly shifting experience of wonder, creative joy, and personal pain. I am glad to have been introduced to her work as similar veins of being are presented through my creative process. The longing to speak with a hand over your mouth, the imagined treasures in the side of a hill, a personal mythology that grows on a sharpened shovel is the reason I believe laurie's work and I am grateful and I welcome the kinship.
