I was granted permission due to my acceptance as a Hauberg Fellow at Pilchuck Art School to work in the Haubergs rehabilitating clear cut. I choose a space that did not interfere with any other plants and was the home of a beautiful 70-90 yr old fir tree stump. I dug this stump without severing any roots in order to take soil samples using my handmade soil sample collection suite and tool belt.
